Manufacturing and mechanical integrity is never compromised
CANAMIX Peristaltic Pumps and Agitators are 100% Canadian Made!
Shafts are manufactured to a stringent straightness tolerance of 1mm/metre of shaft length. Often 50% of this limit is achieved. Ears are attached to circular hubs using deep penetrating continuous welds which are systematically dye penned. Ears are never attached directly to hollow shafts. Hubs and ears are machined using CNC machines to minimise clearances between ear and hub. This ensures weld strength.
Mounting bases are critical components in ensuring that the gearboxes are correctly aligned and mounted to the beams or structure. This reduces the potential for twisting or flexing of the gearbox housing — a common cause of failure of proprietary gearboxes. All large, top entry CANAMIX agitators are fitted with integral mounting bases, or pedestals where necessary. All bases have machined pads, at the top and bottom, to ensure accurate and positive alignment
CANAMIX manufactures impellers for all applications, including high viscosity duty. However, as most applications are either flow or shear dependent, the CANAMIX CHF range of high flow impellers, or the CANAMIX CHG range of high efficiency gas dispersers, are the workhorses of the CANAMIX stable. Other impellers available are flat blade radials, pitch blade turbines, high viscosity anchors and helical impellers. We also build specialized impellers for pumping, foam breaking dispersion and Solvent Extraction.
Impellers can be manufactured in all materials, including exotics. They can supplied coated in rubber, urethane, epoxy or other specialized materials. Impeller blades are carefully checked to ensure that tolerances on angle, camber and curve are maintained. Out-of-specification blades are rejected. Blades are machined where hub and ear attach to ensure flatness. Often, the problem of loose blades is caused by blade flexing, resulting from a lack of flatness and poor contact with the hub ears.
Impeller blades in excess of 2″ thick and 21ft in diameter have been manufactured by Canamix in Canada.
Peristaltic Pump Components
CANAMIX use high quality gear drives from premium manufacturers, for their Peristaltic Pumps. Output speeds are carefully matched to process requirements and a safe power margin ensures that the rates cannot overload under maximum operating conditions.
- High quality, in-line and parallel shaft gearmotors are fitted to the CANAMIX pump models C10 – C50
- Premium class planetary drives are installed on the larger CANAMIX pumps from C65 – C150
All gear drives carry the full CANAMIX mechanical guarantee, irrespective of source.
Pump casings for the complete range of CANAMIX pumps are manufactured in BC, Canada. All components are individually checked to ensure CANAMIX‘s stringent quality standards are met.
Great care is taken to ensure that CANAMIX’s specifications on concentricity, squareness and strength are maintained as the accuracy of the housing has a great effect on the longevity of the hose. The peristaltic hose requires room for expansion and contraction but excess or reduced clearances can result in scuffing of the hose and premature wear. In addition, inaccurate angle of the casing interior can cause unequal compression resulting in reduced life.
Pump casings and covers are powder coated to CANAMIX’s colours, although clients’ individual colours can be applied to specific OEM products.
All CANAMIX Peristaltic Pumps from C25 – C150 are fitted with side mounted sight windows. This new addition to the pump features was introduced during 2016. The sight windows allow clear viewing of the lubricant levels, direction of rotation, and quality of lubricant. The sight windows are housed in the robust steel frame. Manufactured from Lexan MR10, they are tough and chemically resistant. By positioning the sight windows at the side of the pump, potential damage is substantially reduced.
The dual rollers fitted to the CANAMIX Peristaltic Pump ranges – a unique feature of the pumps – are manufactured from polyoxymethalene. Maintaining a high degree of concentricity, smoothness and durability ensures constant and equal compression of the hose, improving and extending hose life. The rollers have machined landings on either side. These landings eliminate the possibility of the rollers ‘binding’ in the roller carriers. The rollers are fitted with internal bushes for smooth, lubricated rotation.
CANAMIX Peristaltic Pump hoses are reinforced hoses, carefully ground to a smooth finish. A high degree of concentricity is achieved through the use of precisely machined mandrels and accurate grinding. The combination of smooth hoses, soft rollers, and high concentricity is one of the reasons why CANAMIX hoses have a greater life expectancy than competitive designs.
The hose connectors on the CANAMIX Peristaltic Pumps are manufactured from 316 SS or other materials appropriate for the process requirement. The connectors are machined to a high tolerance. As the connectors are fixed from the inside of the pump casing, they allow easy removal during hose replacement. Standard connectors are NPT, but alternative systems are available on request.
Complete combinations of hose connectors and clamps are available to speed hose replacement and minimize downtime.
